Voice of Sustainable Pork (VOSP) brings together all links of the global pork chain to share news, experiences and ideas related to a common goal: sustainable, responsible and successful pork production.
The United Nations defines sustainability as “meeting the needs of the present, without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.”
For the pork industry, this means the needs of people — including consumers and those whose lives and livelihoods depend on pork — as well as those of pigs, the pork industry and the planet that we share. Sustainability exists when these “4 P’s” intersect.
In reality, finding this intersection can be a challenge: virtually every decision has its sustainability trade-offs, so there is no single way of being “sustainable,” in absolute terms.
But there are many ways of being more sustainable — and therein lie opportunities for all links of the pork chain. These opportunities are what VOSP is all about.
Featuring a mix of original and contributed content, plus news aggregated from a variety of sources, VOSP aims to bring the global pork industry together to more effectively balance the needs of pigs, pork, people and planet — now, and for generations to come.
